I was driving to work last week and someone had put this pair of RAD mid-century chairs out in the trash. I drove by and thought "Those are rad, and could probably be reupholstered. But I don't need another project on top of everything going on in my life, etc." and then I heard Nicole Curtis screaming in my mind "THOSE ARE GOING TO END UP IN A LANDFILL!!! PICK 'EM UP!!!" So yes, I turned around to picked them out of the trash pile, and when I got up close they were BEYOND DISGUSTING. But the wood and frame looked good, so I dropped them in the garage and went to work. They were actually covered in animal hair and duct tape from the 1960's, but I took the shots after hair/tape removal. So gross.
Nat liked them, or at least their potential, so I took off all the repulsive upholstery. They are actually pristine underneath, and really well constructed. Bonus: they were built in 1959 in Lansing, Michigan. Vintage, Mid-Century, FREE, super cool. I'll post pics after re-upholstery. Nicole would be proud!
